The 2017 Walk for Life and 5K Run is a community awareness  fundraising event that benefits TCLC. All  proceeds go towards providing free and confidential services to women, students, and families through our medical clinic in Mendocino  County and our mobile medical clinic in Lake County. Participants can either walk or run.

There will be a fantastic bounce house for the kids,  games, face painting, great music and a delicious barbecue with all the  trimmings. Several local businesses have agreed to come out, support life, and make our event even better. Bring your family and friends. Come celebrate the gift of  life with us.

Walk Brochure

At our kickoff meeting, we handed out Walk brochures with instructions on how to sign up online, a form for filling out pledges, as well as a map with directions to the event. If you would like one of these brochures, please call TCLC (463-0220) and we will mail one out to you as soon as possible.

Pledge Sheet

We will try and update this section with anything we think would be helpful in getting people to sponsor you as a walker. For example, if you don’t need the Walk brochure and just want a blank pledge sheet, Click Here to Download Pledge Sheet Only.

Sample Letter

Dear Friend,

On May 13th, I am going to participate in the 2017 Walk for Life and 5K Run to benefit TCLC.  TCLC is a life-affirming ministry whose mission is to erase the need for abortion by serving pregnant, at-risk women by transforming their fear into confidence.  The funds raised through the Walk will help to financially sustain the ministry of TCLC as it seeks to impact and transform people with the love of Jesus Christ.  All of their services are provided free of charge.  I am participating so they can continue serving all who walk through their doors!

TCLC offers:

Pregnancy tests
Limited obstetrical ultrasound exams
Options consultation
Selected Sexually-Transmitted Disease Screening and Treatment
Material Assistance
Post-Abortion Recovery Program
Healthy Relationships Program

I am writing to invite you to sponsor me.  My goal is to raise at least $200.  Will you help?  The pledge amount is not a per-mile pledge but rather a one-time donation.  Some sponsors give $100, some $25, others $10.  Your gift is tax-deductible.

You can make a donation online by visiting www.fundeasy.com and enter my name when prompted.  That will bring you to my own fundraising page where you can click “Give” to record your donation.

Thank you for supporting me as I put my feet into action on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Blessings,
(Your name, phone number and email address)

Fundraising Tips

Fundraise online!  Register and create a personal fundraising page, then share it on your social networking pages and email – just use the links on your fundraising page!  Watch the video to learn how!!

Set a personal fundraising goal. It will be easier to reach than you might think!

Obtain your first pledge from a generous donor!  This will help motivate subsequent donors!

Don’t forget to ask family and friends who live out of town.  Email your entire contact list and ask them to sponsor you.  See the sample letter we have composed for this purpose.

Can’t think of who else you can ask to sponsor you?  Refer to our suggestion sheet!

How To Involve Youth

Connect with your youth pastor/leader. Share your passion for TCLC and explain the Walk – encourage them to get the youth/youth group to participate.  Stress the specific impact TCLC has on this age group.

Have groups form teams.  Initiate a boys v. girls contest or a middle school vs. high school contest on who can raise the most money.  Offer a special prize such as a pizza or ice cream party for the winning team.

Recruit a team of walkers from the middle school and high school youth group.  Create a goal and have the youth sign up as a commitment – then fill in your goal chart each week!

Invite TCLC’S Executive Director to your youth group so that she can request that they participate in the Walk for Life and 5K Run.
