2019 Spring Newsletter

Nancie PictureIt has been a very exciting few months! We praise God for the women who He has brought to TCLC and the opportunity to provide them with all the information they need in order to make a decision that can be Life-changing.

Great news regarding the mobile medical clinic! If you remember, we were in negotiations with the insurance company. They thought that we just needed a new roof as a consequence of the wind/rain storm of January 16th. The insurance company believed they weren’t responsible for the coverage of the rest of the mobile. But, our God went before us and has shown us favor. The insurance company is now considering the mobile medical clinic a total loss and will be settling with us in the near future. During the five plus years the mobile was in Lake County, many women were served, many lives were saved, and many women heard the Gospel. We thank God for His provision over those years and for what His plans are for the future of TCLC in Lake County.

Speaking of that! I have been touring several potential sites for our brick and mortar in Lake County. Though we haven’t yet found THE one, we know that it is out there somewhere!! It would be great to move into an office that used to be a medical clinic so that we would be that many steps ahead in prepping the property for our pregnancy medical clinic. If you know of a potential property, please call me or email me at nancieh@thecenterukiah.com. We are open to investigate any potential site in Clearlake or Lakeport. Hope to hear from you soon.

I am sure you have noticed that Life is in the headlines of most newspapers, news radio shows and the internet these days. It is hard to turn to a news channel that doesn’t have a report on the newest state to introduce legislation to support life as well as states who are introducing legislation to uphold the law with regard to termination of life. Our Center Board and staff need your prayers. As we boldly present the information a young woman needs for one of the most serious decisions she will make in her life, we need to be filled with God’s grace and compassion. Please pray that more and more women will come to TCLC for their pregnancy testing and ultrasound exams rather than bolting to an abortion provider without taking the time to process their situation in a supportive and caring atmosphere.

We thank God for your partnership.

Serving Him with you for Life,
Nancie Hansen, Executive Director

A Life-Changing Partnership

We have just completed the first of our two Baby Bottle Fundraisers (see report below). You can review the report on our recent Walk for Life which was held in three different locations in two different counties on two different days!!! You will also note that we are asking you to SAVE THE DATE for our upcoming Fall Banquets. It is a fact that as one fundraiser finishes, the Board, staff and I begin to prepare for the next one. That is because TCLC has always been financially supported by private dollars (either individuals or churches). We have never received support from the government by way of grants or reimbursements. In addition to these three fundraisers, we rely on the commitment and generosity of 144 families and 12 churches who give monthly. These avenues of revenue are how we fund all the services we provide.

If you are reading this, you have partnered with TCLC at some time during one of the above-named fundraisers, possibly as recent as our Walk for Life. If you have never considered being a monthly donor, the Board would greatly appreciate you considering it now. Our monthly donors, though they change from year to year, supply the Board with the regular funds from which we build our budget for the year. Becoming a monthly donor is a wonderful way to join the war on Life. Partnering with TCLC with a consistent monthly donation provides the Board a more dependable way to fund their vision.

The Board’s vision to expand to Lake County in 2019 to a brick and mortar site needs the financial support of the body of Christ in Lake and Mendocino County. Please prayerfully consider joining many families and churches who are presently standing in the gap for the unborn, sharing their God-given treasures to support TCLC’s mission…..to erase the need for abortion in Lake and Mendocino counties through effectively serving pregnant, at-risk women by transforming their fear into confidence. Call our office today (463-0220) to set up an electronic monthly gift or begin to mail in your check at your convenience. Truly, no amount is too small (or too big)!!

Baby Bottle Fundraiser Update

Thirty-eight churches in Lake and Mendocino counties participated in our January to February Baby Bottle Fundraiser. We thank God for the $26,368 we have received. Thirteen churches are currently participating in the Mother’s Day to Father’s Day Baby Bottle Fundraiser. Churches in Lake County who need to return their bottles to TCLC after Father’s Day, please contact First Assembly of God in Clearlake 994-3122 or Clear Lake Baptist Church in Lakeport 263-3256, whichever one is closer to you. These churches have volunteered to hold your bottles until someone from the Center is able to get them. Thank you, again, to all of the churches for their partnership in TCLC’s mission. We couldn’t do it without you!

Local Legislation and a Call to Action

First, in our own backyard: The Sacramento Bee reported on May 31st, Governor Newsom’s proclamation: “California will continue to uphold women’s equality and liberty by protecting their reproductive freedom, educating Californians about their rights to reproductive freedom, welcoming women to California to fully exercise their reproductive rights, and acting as a model for other states that want to ensure full reproductive freedom for women.” Pray for Governor Newsom. Pray that God opens his eyes and his heart.

Senate Bill 24 (SB 24) if passed, will require all California State College campuses as well as University of California campuses to distribute the Chemical Abortion Pill, ending a baby’s life up to ten weeks of pregnancy. SB 24 passed the State Senate. Recently, the Assembly Health Committee voted 10-4 to pass this bill on to the Committee on Higher Education. It is scheduled to be voted on in that committee on June 25th. Please pray for the members of this committee. The Health Committee includes Jim Wood, Assemblyman from District 2 (Mendocino County) and Assemblywoman Cecilia M. Aguilar-Curry from District 4 (Lake County). Sadly, both of them voted “aye.”

Please pray for our local, state and national leaders. Pray that one day, hopefully soon, they, like Nebuchadnezzar, will raise their eyes to heaven and reason will return to them, and they will bless the Most High, praising and honoring Him who lives forever. Daniel 4:34

“The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”

2019 Winter Newsletter

From Nancie’s Desk

Aside from keeping dry and staying warm, our staff has been focused on keeping the main thing the main thing! We continue to thank God for the opportunity to be used by Him to reach women and families who are facing an unplanned pregnancy with medical services that allow them to gather all the information they need to make a very important decision. With their permission, we are able to share the Good News, and for some women, their visit to TCLC not only changed the course of their babies’ lives but also their own eternal lives. Wow! We are so privileged to serve Him!

In this newsletter, you can review how, by the grace of God, we have been able to serve in 2018. We know that God has a great plan for 2019 and you will find some of our thoughts on that topic in this newsletter as well.

What we didn’t have a clue about was the future of our mobile medical clinic. On January 16th, just about to call it a day, I received a phone call from our volunteer driver. I said, “Hi, Karl! How are you doing?” Karl replied, “I’m doing great, but the wind just tore the roof off of the mobile!” Of course, I had a few moments of disbelief, but quickly realized that he was stating the facts. Unfortunately, the first real big storm of 2019 caused major damage to our trusty and faithful mobile clinic. Though we made our claim with our insurance company immediately, it took them 13 days to tow our mobile from Kit’s Korner (where Karl had safely “landed” it) to Sacramento for a heavy equipment adjuster to determine its future. Currently, the Board and I are in conversation with the insurance company and others about our options. But, we will trust the Lord in this as well.

I can’t help but think that this might be God’s way to propel our already existing plans to expand to a brick and mortar Center in Lake County. Read all about it below!

2019 will be a stellar year for TCLC. God willing, we will serve more women this year than ever before.

We pray you will join us again this year in prayer and financial support as we, by God’s grace, erase the need for abortion in Lake and Mendocino Counties by effectively serving pregnant, at-risk women by transforming their fear into confidence.

Serving Him with you for Life,
Nancie Hansen
Executive Director

P. S. Mark your calendars! This year’s 2019 Walk for Life is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th in Clearlake and Ukiah and Saturday, May 4th in Lakeport.. Get more details below!

Lake County Expansion

As you may know, the Board of Directors at its last Strategic Planning Meeting in November agreed that it was time to set our sights on opening a brick and mortar Center in Lake County.

We know from the statistics here at the main office, that women who travel by our office for errands and such, notice our sign advertising free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD testing, etc. Though she might not need those services right at that moment, there may come a time that she or a friend needs our assistance and “bingo,” she remembers the sign and the services our clinic offers. Subsequently, she will call TCLC for an appointment.

This past January marked six years that we have been able to serve women in Lake County from our Clearlake and Lakeport mobile sites. 95% of the time, we were there one day a week in each city for just five hours. You can quickly see the difference between women getting used to seeing us at our brick and mortar in Ukiah….always there, always a sign outside….versus driving by and happening to see us during the five hours a week we were in Lakeport and Clearlake.

Now don’t misread this….God has done a mighty work over the last six years. Our staff has faithfully answered the call to serve and they were ready when the abortion-minded women came to the door.

However, we believe that with a permanent building, TCLC will be able to increase its availability and allow women in Lake County to have a place where they can obtain all the information they need to make one of the most important decisions of their lives…..and their babies’ lives.

We are in the process of developing a steering committee made up of Lake County men and women. We are planning our first meeting in March and already have some Friends of TCLC busy searching for an adequate site.

If you know of a medical office that is for lease, please give me a call at your earliest convenience. Though the exact location will be determined by the steering committee, it is advantageous to begin gathering information so that we can move this project along. Please keep us in your prayers.

Baby Bottle Fundraiser

We are grateful for the 38 churches in Lake and Mendocino Counties that have joined us in our Baby Bottle Fundraiser.  We have only received back half of what was distributed so please get the bottles back to us as soon as possible.  For Lake County churches that have delivered their bottles to the mobile in the past, please know that First Assembly of God in Clearlake and Clear Lake Baptist Church in Lakeport will receive your bottles.  We will pick them up from there.  Please call ahead for office hours so you don’t make the trip unnecessarily.  We are looking forward to the 13 churches who will participate in the Baby Bottle Fundraiser from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day!

Aghast at Legislation in New York and Other States

We have received several calls, letters and emails from many donors with regard to the most recent law passed in New York. On January 22, New York passed the Reproductive Health Act which removes restrictions on all abortions, essentially allowing babies to be killed up until the moment of birth. A few weeks later, a few delegates in Virginia attempted to pass similar legislation which thankfully was defeated. These legislative actions have shocked the conscience of millions of Americans who logically ask:

How did it ever come to this?

Tom Glessner, founder of the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates responded in an article he wrote for the Washington Examiner: “We have arrived here because 46 years ago, the Supreme Court issued its decision in Roe v. Wade. These legislative proposals, as horrific as they are, merely codify the original holding of Roe, and its companion decision, Doe v. Bolton.

According to Roe, abortion is legal up to the time of birth if justified for “health” reasons. And the definition of “health”, according to Doe, holds that any stress factor in a mother’s life—physical, emotional, psychological, familial, or based on her age—justifies abortion at any time during pregnancy…….If there is any positive outcome from the actions of Virginia, New York, and others, it is that perhaps a sleeping public has been awakened to the true nature of Roe v. Wade.”

Anne O’Connor, Vice-President of Legal Affairs for NIFLA wrote, “We urge all pro-life citizens to turn their grief into action by supporting organizations that advance the cause and culture of life.”

The Board, staff, and volunteers thank you, our faithful donors, for prayerfully and financially supporting TCLC as it strives to accomplish its mission one woman at a time..

“…be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58

2019 Walk for Life

It’s that time, again…..well, it’s time to get those walking/running shoes out, dust them off and grab a friend!!!! Oh, did I forget to say…..and ask all of your friends and family to sponsor you at this year’s Walk for Life?
We will be hosting our Walk in:

Clearlake and Ukiah on Saturday, April 27
 Lakeport
on Saturday, May  4
10:00am at all sites

These events are of key importance to help us continue providing life-affirming services to women and families in Lake and Mendocino Counties.  With the opening of a Lake County brick and mortar, it is so crucial for our veteran Walkers from past years to recruit a friend or two who has never walked before and encourage them to obtain sponsorships from their friends and families. In addition to the Walk/Run on April 27th, there will be a bounce house, music, a kid’s zone and friendly competitions which will result in prizes…..at both sites!!

On April 27th, our Ukiah event will be at the Mendocino College Track, 1000 Hensley Creek Rd.

On April 27th, our Clearlake event will be at the Clearlake Youth Center, 4750 Golf Avenue.

On May 4th our Lakeport event will be at New Hope Fellowship, 305 Peckham Court.

Our Walk brochures will be mailed out in mid-March.

Please note YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT  ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT to participate with us.  You can get pledges and walk or run or hike wherever you are!!

You won’t want to miss our Kick-off Meetings where you will find out all of the amazing details for this year’s Walk!

Clearlake, Thursday, March 21, 1st Assembly of God
Ukiah, Monday, March 25, TCLC
Lakeport, Thursday, March 28, Clear Lake Baptist

A Look Back

We want to praise God for all that He provided in 2018! We were able to intervene in 145 women’s lives, giving them the information they needed in order to make an informed decision about their pregnancy.

82% of our 145 patients were indeed pregnant. 91% of these patients were at-risk for abortion based on factors such as age, not married, financial pressures, parents or father of the baby wanting them to have an abortion.

101 patients chose Life. We have confirmed three abortions and fifteen patients remained undecided at our last contact. We provided 114 initial ultrasound exams and 93 additional ultrasound exams at return appointments. 109 patients chose to have an STD test. Six were positive.

By God’s grace, seven of our patients received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! We stand in awe of our great God and Father. Praise be to His Holy Name!

We are so grateful for the generosity of our faithful donors who partner with the Almighty in this great mission. At the end of 2018, 160 families and fifteen churches were monthly donors with gifts totaling $124,373. Our three fundraisers exceeded years before: Baby Bottles $32,751, Walk for Life $36,943 and our Annual Fall Fundraiser $98,694.

Our expenses for 2018 were 77% to Program, 13% to Administration and 10% to Fundraising. God, through you, has been most gracious to TCLC. Please join us as we praise Him for His provision.

Thanksgiving – Fall 2018 Newsletter

TCLC UkiahPlease join us as we praise our God for all of His many blessings. TCLC Board, staff and I would like to extend our warmest and sincere thanks to all of you for your incredibly loyal and generous support of TCLC. It isn’t just at this time of year that we remember to give thanks to Him for you. We pray often for you and thank God for your partnership.

In October, over 250 guests participated in our Annual Fall Fundraisers held at Redwood Valley Community Church and Grace Church in Kelseyville. We shared a very tasty dinner thanks to our friends from Hartstone Bible Camp, precious fellowship with our tablemates and worshipped our Abba Father in song. Then Pastor Manny Pereira took us to the word of God, and by God’s grace, we were encouraged to Press On in our mission to minister to women who are facing unplanned pregnancies.

Pastor Manny reminded us that we exist to glorify God. He urged those present (and I urge those reading this newsletter) to “be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 Pastor Manny proposed that we see the sanctify of human life through God’s perspective instead of just our feelings and man-centered reasoning. Those listening with their hearts were overwhelmed by his call to action “to decry the current and accelerating crisis of the culture’s low view of life.” He took us on a journey that examined, through the lens of Scripture, the God-centered and Christ-exalting worldview.

We are so thankful for the generosity of those in attendance who blessed us with a total of $102,400 in one-time gifts and pledges. “For you, O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.” Psalm 92:4.

Wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving,

Legislative - Civil rights and Abortion

Legislative Update

On Friday, October 26th, US District Judge John Houston, issued a permanent injunction against the California government on grounds that its Reproductive FACT Act was deemed unconstitutional. Again, we thank the Lord for His favor.

However, we need to keep other centers around the nation in our prayers. New York State’s Governor signed a statement committing to pass abortion expansion legislation within the first 30 days of the next legislative session in January. The bill elevates abortion to a civil right. This directly attacks an ethical medical professional’s ability to practice medicine without violating his conscience by coercing him to participate in the abortion process. Not doing so could be interpreted as a civil rights violation. Please pray for pregnancy medical clinics like ours in New York.

Strategic Goals for 2019

The Board has proposed many goals for TCLC and its operations at its recent Strategic Planning meeting. We are in the process of creating a steering committee for Lake County which would help us investigate the feasibility of a brick and mortar clinic in Clearlake. We know the need is great. We feel that a permanent presence in the community would attract more patients facing unplanned pregnancies.

The Board would like to expand our STD testing and treatment. STD’s continue to increase at alarming rates.

The Board is committed to bringing a medically accurate interactive presentation to Lake and Mendocino County middle and high school students dedicated to educating teens to make the healthiest choice for their future. The curriculum authors state their simple goal: “Empowering this generation to set high standards and avoid risky behaviors, thereby avoiding the significant physical, psychological, social and financial consequences of at-risk activity.”

These are just a few of the goals we have set for 2019!!

Baby Bottle Fundraiser2019 Baby Bottle Fundraiser

During the month of January, over 40 churches in Lake and Mendocino counties will be distributing Baby Bottles to their congregants. We ask that you place your Baby Bottle in an obvious spot in your home so that you remember to place your daily “change” into the bottle as well as pique the curiosity of neighbors and friends who visit your home. “What’s that Baby Bottle doing sitting on your counter?” This is your opportunity to share all about TCLC, its mission and why their support would be so welcome.

Bottles will be distributed beginning on Sunday, January 6th, and collected on Sunday, February 10th.

End of Year Giving

Just a reminder for those of you wishing to make a special donation before the end of the year………it must be postmarked or received by us at TCLC by December 31 or earlier in order to qualify for a 2018 tax-deduction.

2018 Annual Fall Fundraiser – “Press On”

2018 Annual Fall Fundraiser
“Press On”

Soon you will be receiving an invitation to our 15th Annual Fall Fundraising Banquet. We hope you join us on either Thursday, October 11th, at Redwood Valley Community Church or Friday, October 12th, at Grace Church in Kelseyville. Doors will open at 6:45pm and dinner will begin at 7pm followed by an inspiring and informative program.

After the last three years of litigation ended at the highest court of our nation in June, we are reminded daily in the media and on the other end of TCLC’s telephone line that the battle is far from over. Currently, Hawaii and Illinois continue to have their day in court on similar issues. Nations once pro-life are turning inside out to pro-abortion. Nevertheless, it continues to be TCLC’s mission to erase the need for abortion in Lake and Mendocino Counties by effectively serving pregnant, at-risk women by transforming their fear into confidence.

This is the reason why the body of Christ must Press On.

Several Christian businesses have generously underwritten this year’s banquets. Our dinner is complimentary, and we hope that you will encourage a friend (or friends) to join you! When you receive your invitation, there will be a RSVP card so you can choose your dinner entrée. There are three ways to RSVP. You can mail the RSVP card back to us. You can go online at tclcdonors.com or you can call Lesa at TLCL 463-0220. When you invite friends to join you, please make sure you let us know their dinner selection.

“…be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58

You might ask, “Why should I come to the Banquet?”

First, we will be praising God for His most recent favor with the Supreme Court decision that allows us not to have to advertise abortion in our waiting room. There is much to be celebrated and thanksgiving to be offered to the One and Only.

Secondly, there will be a delicious dinner to be shared among friends. Over 30 churches between Lake and Mendocino Counties will be represented at this fundraiser! It is so delightful to fellowship with friends for Life!

Thirdly, you won’t want to miss the powerful and Life-impacting message from our guest speaker, Manny Pereira, Pastor of Trinity Bible Church in Morgan Hill. He is passionate about Jesus Christ and Life!!

From a young age, Manny has enjoyed and studied God’s creation. In fact, prior to God’s call on his life to ministry, Manny became a student of physics and earned two applied science degrees. After several years at the Almaden Research Center, he departed from the science and technology profession to pursue training in ministry.

We are confident that no one will want to miss his message as Pastor Manny encourages us to see Life through the eyes of our Maker. Recently, someone heard the staff discussing who the speaker would be for this year’s banquet, and when they heard, their response was, “No kidding! Wow! He is an incredible speaker! I heard him once in person and now I follow him on his podcasts. I’m coming for sure.”

We look forward to you joining us. Make sure you RSVP with your dinner selection by September 26th!

FROM NANCIE’S DESK

We have so much to be thankful for! In June, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that pregnancy medical clinics like ours cannot be mandated to advertise for abortion! I know many of you prayed along with us for this outcome and are thanking God with us for His favor!

We have another battle queuing up in our Golden State come November when we go to the polls to elect a new Governor of California. Friends, if you have been disappointed by politics or just tired of the craziness that we read about in the papers or on the internet or see on TV , we must get out and vote this election season. There really are two markedly different candidates. Their platforms are as diametrically opposed as the north is from the south. (See the box insert below.)

Maybe you haven’t even registered to vote because of your frustration. If the body of Christ steps up to the ballot box, there will be a great, long overdue change in California’s political landscape. So many have walked away from this precious right to vote, and I plead with you to get down to the Registrar’s office or call in for an application to be sent to your home. We must vote our biblical values this November.

On another note but in the same vein, I was reading about Senate Bill 320 recently. Do you know about this “deadly” bill? Here is an excerpt from SB 320, Section 1(i):

(i) It is the intent of the Legislature that public university student health centers make abortion by medication techniques as accessible and cost-effective for students as possible, and thus public university student health centers should treat abortion by medication techniques as a basic health service.

You read that correctly. If Senate Bill 320 becomes law, the UC and Cal State campuses may make RU-486 available to their students through the local student health center on campus. Two pills– the first kills the baby, the second produces contractions to expel the baby—possibly in a dorm room.

Please join us on October 11th or 12th at our fundraising banquets to learn more about how the body of Christ can, together, Press On, in a world that has forgotten its Creator.

Serving Him with you,

Political Party Platform Excerpts

faithandpublicpolicy.org

Republican Party
Abortion – “The Constitution’s guarantee that no one can ‘be deprived of life, liberty or property’ deliberately echoes the Declaration of Independence’s proclamation that “all” are ‘endowed by their Creator’ with the inalienable right to life. Accordingly, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.” (p.13)
Marriage – “…the cornerstone of the family is natural marriage, the union of one man and one woman.” “Our laws and our government’s regulations should recognize marriage as the union of one man and one woman…” (p.31)
Religious Liberty – “Ongoing attempts to compel individuals, businesses, and institutions of faith to transgress their beliefs are part of a misguided effort to undermine religion and drive it from the public square.” “We urge the repeal of the Johnson Amendment.” (p.11)

Democratic Party
Abortion – “We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortions—regardless of where she lives, how much money she makes, or how she is insured.” (p.37)
Marriage – “Democrats applaud last year’s decision by the Supreme Court that recognized that LGBT people—like other Americans—have the right to marry the person they love.” (p.19)
Religious Liberty – “We support a progressive vision of religious freedom that respects pluralism and rejects the misuse of religion to discriminate.” (p.19)

This is not a “party” thing.
This is not a “political” thing.
This is a biblical thing. Vote your values!

WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP!

At the end of September, the mobile medical clinic driver for our Lakeport services will be stepping down. This means we need someone to take his place, be trained and out on the road by Tuesday, October 2nd.

The mobile clinic does not need a specially licensed driver, although experience in driving a motorhome is a must. The captain of our fleet will train you by allowing you to shadow him first. Then he will supervise a run before releasing you to “fly” solo.

The schedule would entail picking up the mobile on Tuesdays at its parking spot in Kelseyville and driving it to the High Street Mall in Lakeport by 11am. We serve until 4pm. Then you would return the mobile to its parking spot in Kelseyville.

It would be great if we had two people volunteer for this much needed position. That way they could share a schedule every other week.

Please call Nancie Hansen 463-0220 ASAP for more details. Your response will impact our continued services. We are praying for you!!

The last few months have been brim full! As you will read below, the 2018 Walk for Life/5K Run was an amazing success as God showed us extreme favor in providing just the right committed Walkers and generous Sponsors.

Meantime, our staff has been busy acclimating to our new electronic medical records (EMR). We are paperless more and more as the weeks go by. Of course, the goal is to be completely paperless. However, that is a pretty big elephant to chew…even piece by piece! It has taken many hours of customization, training, implementation and then repeat that several times as we work out the kinks!

As we have transitioned to EMR, a strange thing happened!

In February, March and April we clearly became aware that our new patient numbers were dropping. Don’t get me wrong, we all are grateful for even one life saved, but with such incredible services to offer that allow women to be truly informed about all their pregnancy options, we were scratching our heads.

In May, we upped our investment in Google AdWords which we know in the past has had a direct (or so we thought) effect on our numbers. What do you know? Our new patient numbers spiked again! Just about the time we were finished celebrating the wonders of social media, I found out that our marketing person had not yet begun the Google AdWords campaign!

So, once again, it all comes down to our Sovereign God. His plan is always perfect even when we raise our eyebrows after thoughtful (and prayerful) considerations. Who would have thought that the low numbers in February, March and April were God’s gift to us while we were climbing the mountain tops of EMR land? Trust me, it is a whole lot easier to determine a problem with metrics when you are dealing with a smaller number of patient files than with a bigger number. We are turning the corner in our EMR expertise, and what do you know, God has returned our patient numbers. He is so faithful!

We remain ever so grateful for your partnership with TCLC as we attempt, by God’s grace, to erase the need for abortion in Lake and Mendocino Counties.

Serving Him with you,

Nancie Hansen
Executive Director

Awaiting Final Decision from SCOTUS

As most of you reading this newsletter know, pregnancy medical clinics around the nation have been eagerly awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of NIFLA v. Becerra. The current term of the high Court ends on June 29 and the decision will be handed down on or before that date.

At a recent gathering in Virginia Beach celebrating NIFLA’s 25 years of pro-life work and ministry, Michael Farris, President of the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), our attorneys in the appellate case, spoke to those in attendance. He shared highlights from the argument he presented before the Supreme Court. He also shared his optimism that we are going to receive a very good decision.

We are once again asking our supporters to join a national prayer vigil for the Court during this time of their deliberation. We have selected Tuesday, June 26th, as the day TCLC and all its wonderful supporters will stand in prayer for the Supreme Court’s decision. We will break the day into 15-minute intervals and hope that you will call into TCLC before June 26th to advise us of the 15 minutes you would like to commit to pray. Please call Lesa at TCLC by Monday, June 25th to inform us of the time you select.

“The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” James 5:16

When We Receive the Decision

Shortly after the decision is issued, NIFLA will hold a national webcast to review the decision and its implications for the future of the pregnancy center network. They will hold the webcast 48 hours after the decision is released. To sign up for this breaking news webcast and hear more details as they become available, please go to nifladecision.com and request to be notified of the webcast.

2018 Walk for Life/5K Run Update

I will give thanks to You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works.”
Psalm 139:14

One hundred ten Sponsored Walkers joined their friends and families on Saturday, May 5th, in four locations around Lake and Mendocino Counties. Their participation represented their fervent respect for the sanctity of human life. The funds raised allow TCLC, through God’s grace, to serve women in both counties who are facing an unplanned pregnancy.

This year we exceeded our goal thanks to the generous 733 sponsors from near and far! TCLCr raised $37,905 which is the most money raised at a Walk for the 14 years of the Walk’s existence!!! The Board, staff and volunteers have been thanking God for His favor and faithfulness. TCLC does not receive any outside funding (government or grants) but rather solely exists based on the generosity of people like you. Thank you so much to those who participated!

From Nancie’s Desk

Dear Friend of TCLC,

Our calendars tell us that this is the season of thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for this year. We continue to thank our Father God for His Son, Jesus. His perfect plan to redeem us through our Savior’s death on the cross remains first and foremost in our minds.

As we come to the end of another year, TCLC is grateful for all the patients that the Lord has brought us, the babies saved from abortion and the opportunity to share the gospel with so many. In January, we will send out an end-of-the-year report with all the details. However, all of us at TCLC continue to be encouraged by what God is doing here. As you know, if you have followed us for even a short time, we have a front row seat!! We are so grateful for all of you who, through God’s grace, provide the funds for us to serve. Thank you for your partnership.

Next year, it will be mandatory to add another Lake County nurse to our team. Our Nurse Manager, Carol, and her husband will be gone for three months and, of course, we want to continue our services in Lake County. Please fervently be praying for a nurse from Lake County to answer this call. We will thank God in advance for his provision!

While you are at it, please pray for a volunteer team to emerge to assist in our marketing and development endeavors. Please contact Cody here at TCLC, if you are interested or need more details.

“..in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Blessings,
Nancie Hansen

We’ve Been Selected!

scotus

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.” 1 Chronicles 16:8-10

Oh, my!! Have you heard the great, jump up and down, dance on the table news? On November 9th, the Supreme Court of the United States granted NIFLA’s petition and will hear arguments later in this term, probably sometime after the first of the year!!

We are praising God for His favor. Thank you to all who prayed!

Our appeal in NIFLA vs. Becerra asks the Court to reverse the decision of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which denied us a preliminary injunction against the state of California. If granted, the injunction will prohibit California from enforcing its “Reproductive FACT Act,” which mandates that pro-life pregnancy medical clinics post a sign advising how to obtain a state-funded abortion.
We must continue to pray and pray and pray. Please commit to praying each day for a win at the Supreme Court level. We must now have five justices to vote in our favor to win this case. Tom Glessner, founder and president of NIFLA (our recent guest speaker at our Annual Fall Fundraiser!), will be announcing a very similar national prayer vigil like we hosted this past summer. When the hearing date is set, you will receive more details from us.
In the meantime… “let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.” 1 Chronicles 16-10

In other news…

A state trial court judge in Riverside County has ruled the “Reproductive FACT Act” is unconstitutional under the California state constitution. The judge ruled in favor of the Scharpen Foundation, which operates a pro-life mobile medical clinic. Forcing the Scharpen Foundation to speak a message with which it fundamentally disagrees, the judge held that the law amounts to compelled speech. As such, it violates the free speech right of Scharpen. The California Attorney General has announced that he will appeal this decision to the California Court of Appeals.

Tom Glessner says, “This decision is a big win; and we will now go through the appellate process in California. Since it is a decision by a state trial court, it has no precedent outside of the county of Riverside, and only protects the plaintiff, the Scharpen Foundation. The federal lawsuit, NIFLA vs. Becerra, needs to succeed to give an ultimate judicial determination of the unconstitutionality of the law and to protect all pro-life pregnancy centers in California.”

You’ve Got Mail!

Everyone loves to receive a special letter in the mail! Unfortunately for TCLC, the task of publishing a paper copy of the newsletter for everyone is no longer cost effective. To make the most of the budget we have, we are moving forward with our plan to digitize the newsletter and many of our other mailings. Some of you have already provided us with your email address, but many more have not. If you want to continue to receive a paper copy of the newsletter you will need to let us know soon, otherwise we will either email it to you or you can read it on our donor website.

Every month we also send out receipts for every donation. However, a lot of those donations are electronic donations. We have decided to stop sending paper receipts for those donations, and instead will send you one statement at the end of the year. This will save TCLC at least $500 a year! For those of you who donate by check or cash we will continue to provide you a paper receipt with a return envelope. Please call or email us if you need to update your email address or mailing preferences with us. You can opt-out of any of our emails or other mailings at any time.

Baby Bottles Coming Soon

January is just around the corner, and that means Baby Bottles! This is a big part of our fundraising schedule and it is a critical part in making sure we have enough funds to operate at the beginning of the year and keeps us operating until the spring Walk for Life. If you want to sign up for your church, let us know ASAP so we can put together enough bottles in time. This is a great opportunity for all of us to share about TCLC and our mission.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Did you know that 2018 will mark 45 years since the Roe v. Wade decision.  In that time, nearly 60 million lives have been lost to abortion. On January 21, 2018, we ask that you join us in proclaiming the message that every human being both born and preborn have eternal value and is sacred and holy because our Creator God declares it so. We will also be calling and asking local pastors to let us come make a brief presentation on that day. So please mark your calendar and keep an eye out for a bulletin in your church.

Fall Fundraiser Update

A Case for Life

This year, our guest speaker, Tom Glessner gave us an eye-opening look into the culture our country is tolerating and the immense impact it has made both politically and spiritually. If you were unable to make it to the fundraiser this year, or you would like to hear the message again, we have put up his message on  our website.

tclcdonors.com/tomglessner/

Please call TCLC if you did not receive the password in your mail or email. Also, we have included a picture gallery you can access from our main homepage. We are so grateful for all of you who were able to make it to this wonderful event. We hope to see you all again next year!

A Digital World

In 2018, TCLC will transition to paperless patient files.  Early in November, some staff were trained in converting to Optimize, our new electronic medical records platform. The whole staff is very excited to make this move and will complete their training by mid-January.

One of the requirements is to have high-speed internet.  At our main office, we have access to the best that Ukiah Valley has to offer; However, on the mobile it is a different story.  Currently, we are connected to the internet through a “hotspot” provided by a smartphone onboard.  This service can be spotty most times.  So, we would like to ask if there is anyone positioned in Lake County (Clearlake and Lakeport) in such a way that your high-speed internet could be “borrowed” by us if we were able to park near your business.  You may know of someone who can help us in this regard but might not receive this newsletter.  We would be so grateful to hear from someone who could help us.

A Patient Story- The Finale

Ashley left the ultrasound room with a sense that a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. The baby is Dave’s! So, when Sally asked her how she felt she couldn’t help but let a smile shine through. The one-night mistake was in the past, and now a new baby with a bright future was ahead. Sally then asked Ashley if she was part of any church or religious organization. Ashley was a little surprised, but she knew it was a genuine question and not an accusation. She was raised within a Catholic home when she was younger, but as she got older she never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Sally walked her through the Gospel presentation and focused on how important is was for Ashley to have a relationship with Jesus. Ashley’s heart was softened, and she was tearfully moved to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Months later as Sally was following up with Ashley, she heard of the wonderful birth of a healthy, chunky little girl. She had also started attending a local church with her husband and the kids.

From Ashley’s first web search to her final ultrasound at TCLC, none of it would have been made possible without the continued support from our donors. Whether it was a one-time gift at a fundraiser, or through our monthly giving program, every donor has helped make stories like this one possible.  For every ten stories like this, nine of the women choose life, and the donors are a critical part in making it all happen for His Glory!

Summer Newsletter 2017

From Nancie’s Desk

Dear Friend of TCLC,

There has been no such thing as the lazy days of summer here  at TCLC.  We thank God for this!  We continue to serve women ranging from 15 years old to early 40’s, who believe that abortion is the answer.  Because of your faithful prayer and/or financial support, TCLC staff has the privilege to provide them with information that they won’t receive at our local  abortion provider.  Many women who have used their services comment on how different their experience is with us.  Please know that we thank God for you every day because though you may not be here on the front line with us, your belief in Him who creates Life and your commitment to stand in the gap for these confused, frightened, abortion-minded women, allows us the opportunity to make a difference…..all by God’s grace.

For many months we have prayed and asked you to pray and consider who might join our staff as a nurse and/or advocate so that we can serve even more women.  God is answering your prayers (see the next page).  It is so important for our staffing to grow as we want to expand services in Lake County as well as Mendocino County.  When a women is desperate to confirm her pregnancy, we want to have an appointment we can schedule for them right then.  We find this most critical in Lake County because we are presently only there two days per week.  Imagine if our mobile could be parked in a well-travelled part of Highway 20 , 53 or 29.  It only takes seeing our mobile a few times and then when someone needs our help, they know where to find us.  The big problem, though, is we need more nurses.  We always need more nurses!!! So if you know of any Christian nurse who  might be able to serve one day per week for only five hours in Lake County or six hours in Mendocino County, please tell us or have them call me .

I am very excited for this year’s Banquet (well, truthfully, I’m excited for every year’s Banquet!)  However, with all of the cases before courts across the nation that have to do with your and my religious freedoms and our First Amendment rights, there is no better banquet to attend this year than ours!!!  I look forward to filling every seat at Redwood Valley Community Church and Grace Church in Kelseyville.  Grab family, friends, your pastor and join us as we make OUR HIGHEST APPEAL!

“Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer”   Romans 12:12

Fall Banquet Announcement!

Our Highest Appeal Banner

TCLC would like to tell you about an interesting, hard-working man from Virginia, Thomas Glessner.  You would be pleased to know that within his gentle southern disposition is packed a determined and passionate man of God, who is focused on standing firm in his obsession to end abortion.  After college, his journey took him to law school which gave him the tools to defend Life, resulting in his starting four pregnancy centers in the Northwest.  Tom was pushed into the national pro-life scene as CEO of Christian Action Council (aka CareNet). From that position, he strengthened pregnancy centers across the nation by providing resources for training of board members and directors.

In order to meet the growing threat to Life and families, Tom founded the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA). Since its inception, NIFLA and Tom have been the conduit in providing critical resources for advocating Life in a culture of death.  Even now, as pregnancy centers in California face the restrictions of freedom of speech and First Amendment protections, Tom is leaning on his God-given drive and determination to make Our Highest Appeal.

On Thursday, October 19th, at Redwood Valley Community Church, and Friday, October 20th, at Grace Church, Kelseyville, Tom will share his knowledge and passion about our current case before the Supreme Court of the United States.  He will be part of the legal team arguing our case before the Court.   Come hear Tom provide us with clarification of the impact this First Amendment case will have on our religious freedoms in general but more specifically for pregnancy medical clinics.

Join us for a complimentary dinner, music, an update on TCLC and a message from Tom that you won’t want to miss!  Doors open at 6:45pm.  Program starts at 7:00pm.  Tickets are free but required.  You can find out more at tclcdonors.com.

LOOK FOR YOUR INVITATION IN THE MAIL!

Welcome Ruth Cover, RN

Ruth with Carol

Carol showing Ruth the ultrasound

While at church on a Sunday morning, Ruth heard that TCLC was in need of additional nurses.  The following day she called and let us know that she would like to consider serving at TCLC.  We didn’t look back for a second after that!!  Ruth began sonography training in May when Cathy McCready, RDMS, began to acclimate her to our ultrasound machine.  In June, Ruth travelled to San Diego to be trained by another RDMS, Jamie Hay, and recently met her quota of ultrasound scans in order to work independently.  Now she just needs to complete her OT training and TCLC will have an additional nurse to meet the needs of our ever-growing patient flow.

A Master Impact

Grace

Meet Grace Morrison who is a graduate student from the University of Wisconsin.  Over the summer, Grace has been observing our patient service delivery model, OT (Optimizational Tool). She is writing her master thesis on the effectiveness of the work of pregnancy medical clinics in the local community.  She tells us that there is no scholarship published with regards to this issue.  She interviewed our staff and observed patient intake.  She promises to send us a copy of her master thesis when it is complete!

News on Our Case Before the Highest Court

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has set a conference for September 25, 2017 to decide if it will accept NIFLA’s (our affiliate) appeal in the case of NIFLA vs. Becerra.  Our case seeks a preliminary injunction prohibiting enforcement of the law enacted on January 1, 2015 mandating all pro-life medical clinics in California to post a sign in their waiting areas that provide information on how to obtain a state-funded abortion.

Noncompliance could trigger massive fines and penalties, which would severely hinder the work of almost 200 life-affirming  ministries in CA and possibly close them down.  Both the Federal District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals have denied our motion for preliminary injunction and that is why we continue to pray that SCOTUS will accept our case on September 25th and be heard this fall.

But There is Some Good News……

As we await a decision from SCOTUS, we have received great news from Southern California and the State of Illinois.  In a lawsuit filed by the Scharpen Foundation on behalf of its mobile unit, a state trial judge has ruled that the Reproductive Fact Act (AB775) is unconstitutional.  The court’s ruling was based upon the California State Constitution, but relied heavily on SCOTUS precedents.  While this case is not binding it clearly shows that there is disagreement in the legal field with the decision of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  This will be a good reason for SCOTUS to select our case for hearing.

The State of Illinois passed a law in 2016 that mandates all physicians refer for abortion, regardless of their moral convictions.  This law essentially means that NIFLA’s 58 members in Illinois operating as medical clinics must become abortion referral agencies.  As in California, on behalf of their membership, NIFLA filed suit with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) seeking an Injunction against the State of Illinois.  The court there granted a preliminary injunction against the law!!!

We Need Your Prayers

It is time NOW for people of faith to unite in prayer for these matters.  Up through September 25th, individuals, pregnancy centers and churches are interceding on behalf of medical clinics like ours in our nation to specifically pray that our case will be accepted by The Supreme Court for review.  Will you join us?

A Patient Story- Continued

“Good afternoon, TCLC. This is Sally. How can I help you?” I answer eagerly. It’s the first call of the day. I have a stack of charts on my desk, but I appreciate a break to answer the phone. The woman on the line sounds really nervous, so I use my friendliest voice, “Sure, what type of an appointment were you wanting to make?”

“I need to stop a pregnancy,” she says with difficulty. Oh no. This is the call I prayed for this morning. I pull out my script. I need to get this right. This might be my only chance to reach her. “Well, have you had your pregnancy confirmed?” This is a matter of life and death…

From Nancie’s Desk

Dear Friend of TCLC,

I stand amazed that almost half of 2017 is behind us!  What a whirlwind it has been. TCLC has served more new patients than ever before year-to-date, most of them truly pregnant (79%), most of those abortion-vulnerable or abortion-minded (86%) and of those, we have confirmed two precious lives lost to abortion. TCLC’s services are so vital to our community.

Recent research shows that at any one time there are 1,285 pregnant women in Lake and Mendocino Counties.  Some have just found out they are pregnant while others are about to give birth… and then there are those who are unsure about the outcome of their pregnancy.

Because of our loyal and generous donors, TCLC is slowly, but definitely surely, becoming a woman’s first stop along their unplanned pregnancy journey. TCLC receives no funds from the government or grants from foundations.  We solely exist by the grace of God and how He works in your heart to support His ministry.

Through your support, we have boosted our exposure on the internet which has resulted in the increase in new patients.  In fact, we receive many calls from people who believe they are contacting Planned Parenthood instead of us!  It’s all due to our marketing strategy and God’s unending grace! (See Patient Story on the back page).

Ten years ago, we became licensed by the State of California as a primary care clinic.  Since then, our services include pregnancy tests, options consultation, limited obstetrical ultrasounds and STD testing and treatment.  It is these services, offered in a professional and loving way, that have given our patients the truth …. all the truth …. about their situation.  There is no arm-twisting or manipulation …. just plain truth …. about abortion, adoption and parenting, followed by an ultrasound that allows a woman to see the life within her.  Sometimes that moment is hard to embrace and we consider it a privilege to walk the hard road with them.

As you can see, TCLC plays a critical role in Lake and Mendocino Counties (see New Patient Stats below).  Without your financial support, we would not be able to keep our doors open or the mobile rolling.  On May 13th, we were blessed by many supporters coming out for the Walk for Life, representing their sponsors who shared their treasures in order that we can continue to serve women facing unplanned pregnancies.  But we can’t stop there.

If you are already a monthly donor, we thank God for your continued generous support.  If you haven’t yet committed to being a monthly donor, I ask that you prayerfully consider it.  Though fundraisers like the recent Walk for Life clearly add to our general fund, a consistent monthly donation allows TCLC a firm foundation on which to plan for the months ahead.

We thank our awesome and sovereign God for allowing us to serve and prayerfully ask you to partner with Him and us so we can continue to be a blessing in our communities.

Serving Him with you,
Nancie Hansen
Executive Director

A Walk Success!

This year’s walk ended up being a very beautiful day. Perhaps a little windy at times, but the sun was out and so were all of you! We are so happy to have met all of you and all the new walkers who joined our team.

A special surprise was the number of Pastors from both counties that showed up. We gave all the Pastors a bright red shirt for the walk and it was encouraging to see all the red shirts mixed in with the walkers.

This year we had 80 registered walkers from both Lake and Mendocino counties. Through the hard work of all the walkers and sacrifices from their sponsors, we raised over $27,000. That’s amazing! We had 438 sponsors from coast to coast making a difference in our little community.

We sent an award to the churches with most walkers from each county, and they were given to First Assembly of God Clearlake and Potter Valley Bible Church. Walkers with the most sponsors in each county were Julie Dobbs and Jenny Wilcox. The fastest runners in the Kids division was Emily Henebury; Teen division, Phillip Henebury; Adult division, Rick and Getse Harbeck.

Thank you to everyone that helped us make this walk a great success! We had a bounce house for the kids, games, music, and an endless space for walking and running around. This was a great family event and we all had such a great time. We also had some delicious BBQ hotdogs and hamburgers. Check out the picture gallery here!

Advocate Needed

Do you have five hours to spare once a week and have a desire to serve the women (like the story below) of Lake and Mendocino counties? We are currently seeking Patient Advocates for both  the main office in Ukiah and mobile clinic in Lake County.

Are you wondering what a Patient Advocate does? The Patient Advocate walks the patient through their appointment as their support person who reviews pregnancy options and assesses their referral needs. Not to worry, you will be fully trained in how this process works!

Please call and ask to speak to Nancie to see if the Patient Advocate position is the right fit for you!

Nurse Needed

Did you know that Lake County has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in California? Our presence in Lake County is critical! It is important that more nurses be hired and trained to keep the mobile  clinic staffed. Once training is completed, a nurse only needs to work one 5-hour shift per week. Are you an RN or know of an RN who could work one day per week? Please call TCLC and speak with Nancie if you or someone you know is interested.

A Patient Story

I’m sitting in the bathroom. It’s still early, the kids aren’t up and I’m sitting here shaking with anxiety. I wait for my husband to leave so I can take the test. I couldn’t look at his face when he left. If this test is positive, it can’t be positive, I can’t be pregnant. I can’t tell him it might not be his.

My phone timer rings with a loud beep and I nearly fall off the edge of the tub. It’s the moment of truth. I stretch my neck over towards the sink and peek at the test. The anxiety deepens. My heart stops for what feels like an hour. Two lines. Two blue lines. I can’t believe this happened to me.

It’s now a few sleepless days later and I know my time is running out. I can’t keep the….. I can’t be pregnant. I was out with my friends after work one night. I might have had one too many drinks, but I wasn’t out of control. That’s when I ran into Mike. It didn’t start out to be anything. It just happened. Oh no. This is making it worse. That’s it, I must go take care of this before I start showing. Before my husband finds out… before anyone finds out. Tonight. I’ll make the phone call tonight…

A Note From Our Executive Director

Dear Friend of TCLC,

Before I boldly uncover facts to dispel the myths you may have heard, I want to express our deep gratitude for your support in 2016. TCLC would not have the impact we have without your generosity. In 2016, we came alongside 200 patients (up 10% from the year before) who were facing an unplanned pregnancy. We provided ultrasound exams for the 75% of those who were indeed pregnant. 52% were abortion-vulnerable and 39% were abortion-minded. 75% chose Life for their babies and 14 women chose Life for eternity. We are so grateful to God our Father for His transforming power.

And now for the uncovering of the myth……buckle your seatbelts!

Over the many years I have been writing to you, I have never mentioned Planned Parenthood. However, there is hardly a day that the news doesn’t post a headline regarding this abortion provider who commits one-third of the nation’s reported abortions—324,000 in 2015* Most liberal reporting wants you to think PP is a non-profit health organization that takes care of poor women by handing out birth control and doing well-women exams and cancer screenings. PP is a massive “non-profit” that earned $58.5 million during fiscal year 2014-1015*. PP received $553.7 million in 2015 in taxpayer funding (that’s you and me) in the form of reimbursements and government grants (which simple math tells us PP receives $1.5 million daily of taxpayer’s money!)* PP is not focused on cancer screenings and prevention—these services have dropped 57% since 2010.* PP has done zero mammograms. Its contraceptive services are down 20% since 2010.*

However, 94% of women seeking “pregnancy” services at PP were provided with abortions. Only 5% received “prenatal care.” Less than 1% received an adoption referral.* This is just the tip of the iceberg! (Watch this informative clip on YouTube)

I hope you can see from the above how critically important you are to our mission to erase the need for abortion in Lake and Mendocino Counties. When you hear of our next grass roots fundraiser, I pray you quickly ask, “How can I bless TCLC and help them in their mission?”

Serving Him with you,

AB775 and Our Appeal Update

Our attorneys currently are preparing to file their case with the Supreme Court and anticipate to be heard sometime this spring. Please continue to pray for the Supreme Court to overturn the lower courts ruling so that we are not required by law to refer for abortion. We will keep you apprised.

Our Front Row Seat

The Lord has brought us several abortion-minded and abortion-determined patients already this year. Although difficult as this may sound, we have seen the Lord bless our mission with many of these women who have decided to parent. One patient in particular comes to mind. She was getting ready to start rehab, not in a stable living condition. The father of the baby was not around so she felt it was not fair to keep the baby. Continue Reading

Please Consider

A ministry such as TCLC is made up of many parts. TCLC has been blessed with facilities, staff, a Godly Board of Directors, financial support, and you ………our partners in prayer and giving. We have been blessed with staff to cover the appointments, but no reserve. To grow and offer more services, or to cover for vacations and sick leave, our current option is “which clinic do we cancel in order to cover the gap?”

Nurses are needed for both Lake and Mendocino counties. A commitment of one 6 hour shift per week would make a big difference. You may be an RN or know an RN…..Please pray for additional staff. The number of women served is growing, the number of women deciding to become a follower of Jesus is growing………..please help us be available.

2017 Baby Bottle Fundraiser

Wow! 38 participating churches have returned their Baby Bottles to TCLC and we are about 85% counted. So far we have received $21,000. Many thanks to all of you who have joined in the fundraiser. We hope to partner with 18 additional churches in May for our Mother’s Day to Father’s Day Baby Bottle campaign.

Our goal this year is to raise $30,000. Praise be to our Father God as we are on track to reach that goal!!

Friends of TCLC!

Would you, or someone you know, be interested in serving with our team?

TCLC purpose is to compassionately share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to uphold the sanctity of human life.

We are currently seeking Advocates in Lake and Mendocino Counties. The Advocate leads patient appointments and works closely with the nursing staff. Without Advocates, we cannot see our patients. The Advocate’s role is an important part of the patient process.

Are you ready to help TCLC’s mission to erase the need for abortion in Lake and Mendocino counties by effectively serving pregnant, at-risk woman by transforming their fear into confidence?

Do not delay! Call Nancie at TCLC, 463-0220. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
